If you are new to GlossaryBase.com, we propose that you read this page first. It provides you with brief instructions on the way to navigate and use this site in all its aspects.

I- General Idea
GlossaryBase.com was established for the purpose of helping language professionals to quickly and freely locate glossary listings, consult sample files and acquire glossaries and translation memories that would help them with their language-related jobs. GlossaryBase.com is where you can buy, sell or trade glossary and TM files online. GlossaryBase.com is a language professionals’ marketplace devoted to the trade of glossaries and Translation Memories (TMs).
If you own a well-built and trustworthy glossary (bilingual, multilingual or monolingual) in any specialization, and are willing to sell it to colleagues who may be ready to buy it or have a need for it, well then you’ve come to the right place.
If you are looking for a well-built and trustworthy glossary (bilingual, multilingual or monolingual) in any specialization, and are willing to buy it from a colleague who may be ready to sell it, well then here is where you would definitely find your query.
Moreover, we have created a special category (the Wish List) to be used to request a glossary/TM which you can’t find on the site yet.

II- Site Access
In order to add a listing, to communicate with other users and to buy or trade online, you need, first, to freely register by clicking on the Menu link Create AccountThe registration page only requires basic information such as a username, a valid email address and a password. You may complete your profile details form, if you wish, at a later stage.

Once done, you can access the site anytime by clicking on the Menu link Login NowThe first members’ page you would see is My Account page. It is your own Control Panel.

At a later stage, and in case you forgot your password, you could reset it by clicking on the Password Reminder link located on the “Login Now” page.

III- Selling a Glossary / TM
If you wish to sell a glossary, click on the Add Glossary/TM link to add a new listing.

Select the Membership Plan that’s suitable to you (for ex., Free Plan 3M) and click the Submit button. The next screen gives you the possibility to choose the first suitable category under which you want your listing to appear.  The next page gives you the possibility to choose a second best category that fits your glossary. You are also required to give your listing a title, a short description, a long description and a series of other optional items. We highly recommend that… (1) Start your Title line by specifying the language combination of the glossary/TM for sale/trade; (2) Use the Website line to include your professional website link or your Profile Page URL with any of the translation boards you are member with (Proz.com, Translatorscafe.com, Translatorsbase.com, etc…). Once you confirm the details and click the Submit button, your listing would be submitted to the directory.
This is not all, mind you! We, next, highly recommend that you add a sample document and not the full file of the glossary or TM you are selling. You can do so from the Listings link which appears to the left of your Account screen. From that page, look at the Manage column to the right of the listing line. From there, you can edit the listing, add a picture, add a document, add an offer and view related statistics.

You are also free to add to your listing… your asking price, your email address, your phone and other contact details.

IV- Buying or Trading a Glossary / TM
You are free to browse and view all listings of GlossaryBase.com. You are also free to contact any seller or refer a listing to a friend. However, in order for you to add a review or a rating to a listing, you should be a registered member. This is a free step. By the way, we highly urge all our users to review and rate listings. This is an extremely helpful feature for differentiating between listings in terms of quality and reliability.
